Case History
The client required the provision of additional space for Vocational Excellence
in Engineering and Management Training which could not be accommodated
on their existing main Leamington Campus.
We were appointed in February 2002 and prepared an initial
cost plan and outline requirements as a basis for obtaining offers from
Developers of three different sites and assisted the College in evaluating
each bid.
The scheme design was developed with the selected provider
and tied into the cost plan and bid. A detailed set of Employer’s
Requirements were prepared including detailed costings negotiated with
the contractor.
The Client required use of the workshops for the commencement
of the 2003/2004 academic year and thus the design incorporated the need
for two stage completion.
Construction commenced on site in December 2002, Phase
One was handed over in August 2003 and the whole project was completed
in December 2003 on time and within budget.
The Trident Centre was short listed for the ‘FORCE’ Design
Awards in 2004 in the ‘Landmark Buildings’ category.
