The project was carried out in phases and involved an
enabling works package to demolish part of the existing boiler house serving
the whole hospital complex and convert the existing oil fired boilers
to gas.
The working area was very restricted and the levels on
the site necessitated major earth retaining works involving a contiguous
bored pile system.
The overall project was completed within 15 months on
site and within budget.
